Why the rush?

Hello friends and family! Thank you for dropping by to read our story :D

Many have asked us, "Why so soon?"

Read on to find out why we decided to tie the know in the middle of this pandemic!

Many of you who are close to Steffi have probably heard of her dream wedding date, 24th of July. Growing up she has always wanted to have her anniversary on the 24/7, thinking that such date would remind her to love her partner for 24 hours and 7 days.

At the end of 2019, Nico asked Steffi for marriage. There wasn't any grand proposal or anything, but we both felt like we were ready to step into a lifelong commitment with each other. After talking to his parents and my parents, marking our calendars for important traditional chinese wedding dates, and looking into the Catholic marriage requirements, we both decided that it'll be best to have it on July 24th 2021. A year and a half long engagement! How exciting! We'd have just enough time to plan the most fun and personalized wedding! It will be in the middle of summer, everyone would be on holiday and the weather would be perfect for a garden party! All of our friends and family abroad would have enough time to squeeze our big day on their calendar with such an early heads up!

mily whom Nico and Steffi wishes to be a part of an originally planned wedding were informed. We were all looking forward to finally being reunited in Indonesia. And then came March, the pandemic broke. We all have a different stories on battling the situation, and here is ours.

We were having dinner at a close friend's house when we heard that the coronavirus has infected Bandung on Saturday, March 14th. He told us that it is probably time to stock up on some food and just stay home. We were concerned about a couple of things, such as families and the virus itself. It was really uncertain at that time and there weren't as many information out there as there is now, but one thing that sure made us took a huge decision is Nico's architecture bureau and his staffs, who were all from out of town and rode on public transportation to work everyday. The next day, Sunday the 15th, we went to the supermarket on bought on any essentials food, condiments, toiletries, etc that would last us at least a month. We also agreed to turn our office into a living space, inviting all the staffs to live together and providing them with food and comfort away from home IF the situation worsen. Little did we know what God had planned for our future and how things turn after. Monday morning, we were on the phone while getting ready for work, when one of the 5 architect working for us, called to inform that she has been admitted to the hospital for fever and flu. When we got to the office, the rest of the team members told us that she actually came to work very sick on Saturday. Sneezing, co

ughing, and not looking good at all. They told her to go home, but she refused and ended up staying all day at work being sick.

We both panicked, thinking she was infected, and we were all carriers by then.

We told everyone to move in that very day, and here we are 4 months into staying home or staying at the office.

During this whirlwind of a time, we grew to know, understand, and love each other more than ever before. Realizing that we both made each other a better person, and wouldn't want to walk through life without one another.

Grabbing any chances of tying the knot while we still can, we are planning our wedding from 0 in 30 days! As foolish and spontaneous as it may seem, we can assure you that our love isn't!

With love,

Nico & Steffi
