Monday, June 1st 2020, was a national holiday, so we took the day off to spend some time with Steffi's family. On our way home in the car, we were casually talking about how we felt it would be better if get married now. We were both dreaming to start a family soon, and waiting for next year just seemed to be full of uncertainties. On the other hand, we thought about how it was impossible, we've tried calling the church multiple times in the last 2 months and the answer was always a mere no. They were NOT having any mass, let alone a Holy Matrimony. When we arrived at Steffi's, we told her mom about the casual discussion we had in the car. She then said, "It won't hurt to try one more time, let's just call the priest to see how things are now."
The priest who will later be blessing us, Father Hendra, said the church will be able to hold holy matrimonies starting this month since the government has decided we will be going with the "New Normal" policies. Though the number of participants will be limited to a total of 30 people including the church members and the bride and grooms, we would still be able to have it at the church. It was such a pleasing news to all us! We quickly agreed to the new terms and condition and reached our siblings and parents to ask them about their opinion.
With all that has been going on around, we've seen the situation changes from a to b in a flash, everyone felt like it would be best for us to just tie the knot while we can.
And so, all of a sudden the wedding was moved up!
The date 30th June was chosen, we had exactly 1 month to prepare everything from 0. We had no rings, no dress, no documents ready, nothing!
We spent the first day of our 30 days wedding planning journey with both of our families, the morning till noon at Steffi's and the noon till night at Nico's. The first day was all about processing what was happening, absorbing all the shock and trying to make sense of what just happened. Lol.
